With iOS 8, The iPhone Will Become Your Digital Hub

At Macworld 2001, Steve Jobs famously introduced the “digital hub” strategy for the Mac, making it the device where all of the single-purpose gadgets for things like recording movies or playing music would be managed. At this year’s WWDC event, Apple showed that the iPhone is the new hub, and your Mac, iPad, and everything in the cloud is now just an accessory.
This is quite a pivot for Apple — at Steve Jobs’ last WWDC keynote, he declared thatiCloud would be the new center of everyone’s digital lives: “We’re going to demote the PC and the Mac to just be a device.”

HTC One E8 vs HTC One M8: What are the differences?

It wasn’t long ago that HTC released its latest flagship, the One M8 and more recently still it released the mid-range HTC One Mini 2. Now the company has announced the HTC One E8, which seems to be designed to fill the small gap in the market between those two.

Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that it’s designed for people who want a high end phone but don’t care about a premium design, whatever the case it seems like a fairly niche product. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth buying. Read on to see exactly how it stacks up to the HTC One M8.

New rumors and images of the Samsung Galaxy F surface, sadly unconfirmed

We’ve heard plenty of rumors of the Samsung Galaxy F, which is thought to be the legendary Galaxy S5 Prime. Since the Galaxy S5 didn’t wow us in specs, many of us are hoping there will be a Galaxy S5 Prime to offer some improved performance. However, the rumors of there being a separate series of devices may end up being true.

Two images of this Samsung Galaxy F have been posted by @evleaks. Though he’s usually very sure of his leaks, he emphasized that these images and rumors are completely unconfirmed and were just a tip. So take this with a grain or two of salt. Still, they’re interesting to say the least. The images don’t quite look real, but they look good.

Samsung Z smartphone will have Tizen OS instead of Android

Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday it will begin selling a smartphone that runs on its Tizen operating system in the third quarter of this year, advancing the company's plans to reduce dependence on Google's Android software.
Samsung, the world's top smartphone maker by sales volume, said in a statement that the smartphone called Samsung Z will go on sale in Russia first. It said there are plans to sell the phone in other countries but didn't name them.
Tizen is already used in a few Samsung products including a smartwatch but has not been deployed in a mass produced smartphone until now.
Unlike Apple Inc. with its own operating system, Samsung's popular Galaxy smartphones and tablets use Google's open source Android platform, a reliance that prevents Samsung from challenging the dominance of Apple's App Store and Google Play in the lucrative market for smartphone apps.

Samsung working with Oculus on VR headset

New details have emerged regarding the phonemaker's plans to enter thevirtual reality space with its own headset.
Exactly a week ago, Engadget broke the news that Samsung was building a headset focused on gaming that would work with its flagship phones and phablets as the ultimate in immersive peripherals. At first, it seemed that Samsung was rushing into the virtual reality world to head off competition from the now Facebook-owned Oculus VR and its Oculus Rift headset and a similar device being developed by Sony -- Project Morpheus.
However, rather than competing, Samsung is reportedly working in partnership with Oculus on the device, which is still on track to be revealed later this year.
