The first Android smartphone of way back, you remember, the T-Mobile G1 right? Well it appears that the T-Mobile G1 can now play nice with the latest “tablet specific” Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS as evidence in the video footage below.
The Android 3.0 Honeycomb running on the HTC Magic/G1 video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Ubergizmo and by way of YouTube user STRYK360, and delivers just over five minutes of seeing the new Android OS on the smartphone.
Apparently the guys responsible for the Android 3.0 Honeycomb port to the T-Mobile G1 are the XDA-developers, and although the ROM works there is some handset lag and many features are not yet working such as 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, while working features include the full Honeycomb UI, Honeycomb keyboard and more.
However apparently the guys are continuing to work on the ROM and will be releasing a build sometime in the not too distant future, until then head on down, hit that play button and check out the video footage…enjoy.
