China-based Huawei, ZTE showcasing new devices at MWC 2011

Huawei Device and ZTE are exhibiting new tablet PCs and smartphones at the 2011 Mobile World Congress (MWC) taking place in Barcelona, Spain, during February 14-17, according to the companies.

Huawei's new products at the exhibition include the Android 2.2 tablet PC S7 Slim, Android 2.3 smartphone IDEOS X3 which will be launched in Japan through cooperation with SoftBank Mobile soon, as well as LTE terminal devices. Huawei sold 120 million devices in 2010, including more than 30 million handsets.

ZTE is mainly showcasing the Skate, a terminal model equipped with a 4.3-inch screen and Android 2.3, and Light 10, a 10-inch Android 3.0 tablet PC featuring 3G/LTE/WiMAX functionality.

ZTE has launched Blade series Android smartphones and Light series Android tablet PCs in the US, Europe and Japan, the company indicated. ZTE sold 63 million handsets globally in 2010, ranking fifth among all vendors. In 2011, ZTE will launch WAC (Wholesale Applications Community)-enabled handsets and its own online store for cloud computing applications, the company pointed out.
