We check out the pros and cons of Samsung's Galaxy S5 and the OnePlus One
As one of the seasoned veterans of the industry with a massive following of fans, Samsung had a lot to prove with the launch of the Galaxy S5. Meanwhile, Chinese manufacturer OnePlus is a brand spanking new company (founded December 2013), meaning it also has a lot to prove but for very different reasons with its debut smartphone, the OnePlus One.
Design & Build
Pre-release rumours aren’t always accurate, but there are often some which stem from certain sources and which are so pervasive they fit the pattern of an accurate report, and they then become very believable. One such rumour was that the Galaxy S5 would have a brand new re-design and use interesting new materials in its construction to deliver a premium finish; metal was pointed to quite a bit, but other things like polycarbonate composites and carbon fibre were also mentioned, too. Regardless, many were expecting something much more refined than earlier Samsung models.
