Future Nokia Phones Rumored To Sport Snapdragon 805 Chipsets With 2K Displays

For a while it seemed that Windows Phone devices lagged behind Android in terms of hardware. While Android OEMs where busy putting out phones with quad-core processors and HD/Full HD displays, Windows Phone devices were still trudging along with dual-core chipsets and sometimes less than HD displays. To be fair the Windows Phone operating system never really needed such high-end specs as it had been optimized for its hardware, but on paper and in terms of marketing, it did not look good. Well if the rumors from Nokia Power User are any indication, 2014 could be where Nokia starts to catchup and maybe even out perform their Android and iPhone competition.

 Based on a tip from one of their trusted sources, it would seem that 2014 is the year where Nokia could start introducing more quad-core powered devices courtesy of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 processor. Their source also claims that Nokia might make the jump to 2K displays, and even incorporate next-gen camera hardware that might sport 20-25MP sensors. Quad-core Nokia phones aren’t new, in fact they debuted last year with the Lumia 1520 which was also one of Nokia’s first Full HD devices. For Nokia to make the jump to 2K would definitely be a huge leap and does seem a tad sudden.
