Asus, Acer: tablet projects running MeeGo and Tegra 3

The two Taiwanese manufacturers are developing tablets powered by the Tegra 3 quad-core processor, while Acer is even looking at the MeeGo operating system.

The Taiwanese groups Acer and Asus are not the first to bring tablets to the market, but they are both trying to distinguish their offers from others through various formats and attractive accessories. Besides the first tablets that are starting to be released, and despite uncertainties about sales volumes in a very competitive environment, the next generation devices are currently under development.

The two manufacturers have tactile tablet projects under development, with it being possible that these will be powered by quad-core Tegra 3 processors, the next generation of mobile processors (Project Kal-EL) with chipset manufacturer NVidia promising 5 times greater performance than the Tegra 2.
