Microsoft is showing developers how the “Mango” update for Windows Phone 7 will bring new features to the Live Tiles on the home screen. For instance, developers can now create multiple tiles for one app, letting you include tiles for local and national news alerts, for instance.
Another feature is Deep Toast, which lets you click a pop-up notification to go directly to a news article or other page within an app, skipping the opening screens of an app.
Microsoft is also increasing the number of Live Tiles users can have their home screens from 15 to 30. There’s also support for tile flipping, allowing you to show secondary contact on the “back” of a tile.
