HTC One Max quick review: An awkward, fun mistake

Big Android phones are nothing new, and if this past year is any indicator they are only going to get bigger. Unfortunately, not everyone seems to understand that the extra size is only worth it if you offer something more to the experience. The HTC One Max is a perfect example of falling into this pit by releasing a huge phone that offers very little in return for its added bulk.
The HTC One is a fantastic phone, easily one of the best Android phones released this year. When HTC decided to make a phablet, it makes sense that they would want to start with the frame for the HTC One and work their way up. A supersized phone with a 5.9-inch 1080p LCD3 display, BoomSound speakers, an Ultrapixel camera, and the snappy Snapdragon 600 processor all sounds like a slam dunk as long as you’re into big phones. What’s not to like about having a giant Android phone that could basically outperform most portable media players with killer sound and a great screen? Apparently, quite a bit.
