LG has announced that it will showcase smart home appliances that will be featuring the HomeChat service at CES, scheduled in January 2014. LG reveals that the HomeChat service will allow customers to communicate, control, and monitor LG's home appliances, and that it can even can be used for sharing content. Notably, the upcoming LG smart home appliances will be able to communicate via instant messaging app, Line.
Further, LG announces that the HomeChat service will be initially available in English and Korean languages, while support for more languages will be introduced in 2014. As of now, LG has not revealed any details of the upcoming smart home appliances.
The South Korean giant claims that the HomeChat service has been designed to work with mobile messenger, Line which is available on all major smartphone platforms: Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows Phone, and Nokia Asha as well as desktops and laptops running Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.
