The idea of ‘branding’ fills me with horror. I don’t mean the branding of cows with hot iron rods – that’s a necessary evil – but the kind where awful people in suits sit around drinking flat whites and debate whether a new shade of purple might make Yahoo! more appealing to ten-year-olds.
Nokia, though, is the sort of shambling disaster zone that shows why ‘branding’ exists.
Only five years ago, the Finnish firm ruled the planet.
