TAIPEI— HTC Corp. 2498.TW -0.34% said it would appeal a U.K. court order backingNokia Corp.'s NOK1V.HE +1.22% plea to ban some of the Taiwanese company's smartphones in the country.
The court decision was the latest blow for HTC, which has been trying to turn around its fortunes.
HTC, which posted its first quarterly loss in the third quarter, has steadily lost market share to fast-growing rivals such asSamsung Electronics Co.005930.SE +0.14% and Chinese low-cost smartphone makers.
It warned last month that revenue will decline further in the fourth quarter. TheTaiwanese smartphone maker is fighting to prove to investors it doesn't need to consider a sale.
